Dell Malaysia has just recently announced 4 new models to add to their current lineup. Some replacing older models like the Dell XPS M1210 which I just recently bought (dang!)

The new models are Inspiron 1420, Inspiron 1520, Inspiron 1720 and XPS M1330. The model number represents the screen size of each notebook. (1420 features a 14.2 inch screen, and so forth)

All the new Laptop models features Intel Core 2 Duo and Windows Vista and has built in Bluetooth. It also comes with an optional Blu-ray Disc Drive (BD/DVD/CD Burner with dual layer capability) and an Intel 4965AGN 802.11n Mini Card.

Sorry for the very long delay. Hey, good stuff must take it’s time to show right? LoL.

Was held up by a few things lately, including ICCG site, my new laptop, recovery of my previous data and other tiny things. Streamyx and the wireless service at college is also being a bitch lately.

Oh, baby XPS got infected with a virus/Trojan last night. Busy looking for *ehem*. It’s up to your imagination to what that *ehem* is. Now in the process of backup (backup files from a 1 week old laptop? >.<” ) because I’ll have to format it after 24 hours of trying to recover the system. It’s 80% clean, but there’s some permanent errors left by the virus.

Anyways, enough of the crap. All you want to see is the new laptop.

I’m back from Fraiser Hill! (So are those 3 people who went to Penang without me…)

Yesterday, Dell called me while I was on my way to Fraiser Hill just when I was about to leave Rawang. Today I’m excited, and couldn’t resist to take this snapshot of my order check at Dell.com.my.

Delivery should be before 5PM. It’s like expecting a baby, right Cely?

Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-shot Series debut last year with the K800i phone. Then came the upgraded version, K810i. Soon later, K550i debut at the end of the 1st quarter this year.

Now, Sony Ericsson releases the latest 5 mega pixel, Sony Ericsson K850i phone, due to be released in August 2007.

Finally purchased my new Dell XPS 2 days ago. System specifications is lower than previous post, but it’s similar to my previous system. Only thing different is the screen, hard disk, warranty and bluetooth. Costs lesser as well - RM4200 for the Inspiron.

This is the specifications of the new laptop. I’d very much want to get back my old specs, but it’s no longer in production. So the next alternative is the DELL XPS system. 12.1" Screen will kill me, but that’s all the options I have. This system is slightly better than my previous one in terms of Processer (1.8 -> 2.0) and RAM(1GB -> 2GB) and also Dell’s Warranty (1 year Next Business Day -> 3 years Complete Cover).

Other things different are the graphics card (ATI x1400 -> GeForce 7400), Screen (15.4" -> 12.1"), Audio (Normal -> Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced HD)

Old costs RM4200~ New one costs RM5300~. RM1100 increase.

Is this worth my money?

Specs were selected by my friend. As a returning customer, am I entitled to a discount or something? RM5.3k is a lot! (Lets not compare with Zeo’s MacBook, RM7k after purchasing all the tiny items (warranty, software, etc) and the macBook)

Yea, stolen as of 1PM today. While I’m not so devastated of the loss of my laptop, but the same can’t be said for the data inside.

Me and my classmates put our bags into the boot before we leave college. We head to Lucky Restaurant at Sri Petaling for lunch and we parked near the restaurant (just outside Kings Bakery). After lunch, we drove to a cendol store near by and parked where we could see the car. After cendol, we head back to college to drop me there. The next thing I found out, my laptop and another classmate’s is missing.

Now, the possible place where the laptops could be stolen was at the restaurant. However, we parked beside a busy road, so we thought the chance of getting stolen was pretty low. Also, I doubt there’s people going around looking for laptops there. So the possible origin started from college. Most probably someone was watching out for guys like us putting laptops in our car and followed us to our destination.

We lodged a police report and got the car photographed for the tampering. I told Hau Cheong to issue an alert to the students on Webspace, but so far it’s not been approved yet.

I guess I done whatever I could do already. So now, I doubt recovery of the laptop is possible, but if you do come across people selling laptops at cheap prices online or offline please to take note of my specs. Just incase you encounter them.
